Denim On Denim
We all know the Canadian tuxedo - a jean jacket paired with jean shorts.
Never would I ever have seen myself sporting this look, but as of late, I'm really digging it! This past week I paired up with local West Palm Beach boutique, Norcross to create a modern, subtle and cute "Canadian tux" look.
As a yogi, wearing all white, just makes you feel like you have it all together. Haha!! but in reality you are on high alert of any potential stains on your crisp, white, yoga pants! Call it masochistic, but that all-white ensemble has transferred over to my regular clothing style now too.
I started with a light wash, distressed short by new denim brand, Hidden Jeans. The Finn short is so cute with its multiple button detailing and I LOVE them because not only are they a great cut but the perfect amount of loose without being too boxy! I was meeting a girlfriend for coffee so I added the softest, most buttery white tee by Z Supply and tucked it in a tad. To finish off the polished yet, "oh, this outfit? its just something I threw on" look, I draped the Hidden Jean Rebel jacket on my shoulders.
Draping a jacket over the shoulders blew my mind when Kim Kardashian starting doing it, and it gets a lot of flack. Sorry, not sorry, I know it's not the regular way to wear a jacket but I'm very into this new trend of jacket "draping". I accessorized with white pointed toe boots, a simple black messenger and a swipe of red lipstick - voila!
What do you guys feel about the Canadian tuxedo? Do you dare to flaunt this look or have you been doing this for years?! You can shop similar pieces below or head over to Norcross Boutique to put together your own denim on denim look!
